Overview
Most cybersecurity training is annual, mandatory and easy to click through. Real attacks change, and the training does not. D-PLUS is an Innovate UK funded project to build something different: AI- and game-based training that adapts to each learner, teaches through practice, and aims to change behaviour rather than just produce completion certificates.
The proposal received the highest assessment score in its funding call, one of 41 projects funded from 164 assessed applications. It was awarded in April 2026 and begins in October 2026.
What it will do
Each learner will work through realistic scenarios matched to their role and skill level, covering the threats employees actually face, such as phishing and social engineering. Training managers will see how their people make decisions, not just who has finished a course.
Current status
